La Ley N.° 29811 traduce esto en la obligación de generar líneas de base antes de autorizar liberaciones de OVM.El objetivo del proyecto fue construir un inventario georreferenciado de la diversidad genética, ecológica y cultural del género Manihot, bajo la hipótesis —sustentada en literatura previa (Ceballos &amp; De la Cruz, 2002; Alves, 2002; Ramos et al., 2019)— de que no hay barreras fuertes de incompatibilidad entre variedades cultivadas y silvestres, lo que habilita flujo génico donde coexisten.Antes de este estudio, la información disponible era fragmentaria: el INIA mantenía desde 2007 un banco de 740 accesiones de yuca cultivada (16 departamentos), y existían registros dispersos en GBIF y estudios puntuales (Sevilla, 2021; Mejía, 2002), sin un inventario nacional sistemático con fines de bioseguridad. Morphologically, it is most similar to Cinnamomum parthenoxylon in having sericeous terminal buds, glabrous branchlets, glabrous leaves, and fruits of similar shape and size. However, C. fasciculatum can be readily distinguished by its subterminal inflorescences (vs. axillary and lateral) and a later flowering season (June – July vs. March – May). Phylogenetic analysis based on complete chloroplast genomes also supports that it is a new member of C. sect. Camphora and is sister to a clade comprising Cinnamomum mollifolium and Cinnamomum tenuipile. MycoKeys 138: 209-236, DOI: 10.3897/mycokeys.138.203334</p><p>Abstract</p><p>Itea is an economically and medicinally important plant, widely distributed across China, Japan and Southeast Asia, noted for producing rare sugars. Despite this, endophytic fungi associated with this plant remain poorly studied. This study focuses on the taxonomy and phylogeny of fungi isolated from healthy tissues of Itea japonica and I. riparia in Northern Thailand. By incorporating morphology, multiloci phylogenetic analyses and nucleotide polymorphism comparison, we establish two novel species, Diaporthe iteae (Diaporthaceae, Sordariomycetes) and Neptunomyces iteae (Didymosphaeriaceae, Dothideomycetes) as well as report a new host and a new geographical record for Diaporthe coracoralinae. Diaporthe iteae sp. nov. was collected from I. japonica, and is recognized within the Diaporthe siamensis species complex (section Sojae). In addition, D. coracoralinae is reported on I. japonica in Thailand for the first time, occupying a position within section Sojae with an undetermined species complex. Neptunomyces iteae sp. nov. was collected from I. riparia and is classified within the family Didymosphaeriaceae. Updated phylogenetic trees and comprehensive morphological comparisons with closely related taxa are provided and discussed for better resolution of species delimitation. Although numerous Phragmidium taxa have been recorded on Rosa in China, their evolutionary relationships and true species diversity remain poorly resolved. Here, a systematic summary of Chinese Rosa - associated Phragmidium is presented by integrating detailed morphological examinations with multilocus phylogenetic analyses of ITS and LSU sequence data, using extensive specimens deposited in major international fungaria and herbaria. Two novel species, P. shennongjiaense and P. xinjiangense, are described and illustrated, and the phylogenetic affinities of 21 previously accepted species are clarified based on updated taxonomic accounts. MycoKeys 138: 193-208, DOI: 10.3897/mycokeys.138.189855</p><p>Abstract</p><p>Pleosporales is a highly diverse order in Dothideomycetes, with numerous taxa occupying saprobic, pathogenic and endophytic niches worldwide. During a survey of microfungi in northern Thailand, two sexual morph species were collected and examined, based on morphology and multigene phylogenetic analyses (28 S, ITS, 18 S, tef 1 - α and rpb 2). Based on this approach, two new species were introduced. Anastomitrabeculia chiangraiensis sp. nov., isolated from a dead stem of an unidentified woody host, forms a distinct lineage within Anastomitrabeculiaceae and can be distinguished from its sister taxon, A. didymospora, by the absence of longitudinal striations in the ascospores and high interspecies sequence divergence in the ITS, 28 S and rpb 2 regions. Roussoella chiangraiensis sp. nov., collected from dead bamboo stems, is well-resolved within Roussoellaceae and differs from the closely-related R. aseptata with robust phylogenetic support (100 % ML, 1.00 PP) and significant interspecies genetic distance in ITS. Morphological differentiation from R. aseptata was restricted due to the absence of a known sexual morph for that species. Based on morphological evidence, two new species of the genus, namely Conostigmus vitreus sp. nov. and Conostigmus obsidianus sp. nov., are described and illustrated from Xizang Autonomous Region, China. An updated key to the Chinese species of Conostigmus is provided. These species are single island endemics respectively from Flores, Pico, and Terceira. They are threatened by environmental degradation, facing the dual challenge of restricted distribution and habitat degradation.The data are the continuation of an established and comprehensive long-term arthropod monitoring survey using SLAM (Sea, Land, Air, Malaise) traps aiming to assess the overall habitat quality with arthropods as principal indicators.Since March 2020 until December 2025, a total of 31 SLAM traps were monitored. The traps were set up as follows: seven in Flores (three in mixed forest and four in native forest), 10 in Pico Island (four in mixed forest and six in native forest), and 14 in Terceira (three in mixed forest and 11 in native forest). Target monitoring duration were 90 days (three months, one season), however, due to technical and weather constraints, some traps were sometimes monitored every six months.A total of 356 arthropod taxa were recorded, with 273 identified at the species or subspecies level. Out of the 273 identified taxa, 45 were endemic, 74 were native non-endemic, 117 were introduced, and 37 were indeterminate. Habitat information is also provided, including general habitat and dominant species composition. This dataset contributes to the continuation of the conservation monitoring of highly threatened endemic beetles by assessing habitat quality based on arthropod communities and habitat description (e.g. native or exotic vegetation). Italian Botanist 22: 51-63, DOI: 10.3897/italianbotanist.22.196629</p><p>Abstract</p><p>Freshwater red algae belonging to the family Batrachospermaceae (Rhodophyta) are poorly investigated, particularly in Italy and in Sicily, where little is known about their distribution along rivers. The present study reports, for the first time, the occurrence of Lemanea fucina Bory in Italy and Paralemanea catenata (Kützing) Vis &amp; Sheath in Sicily. L. fucina formed stalked, highly branched thalli and was characterised by an internal structure lacking a cortex around the central axis cell, T-shaped ray cells, and spermatangial papillae arranged in circular patches at the nodes. In contrast, P. catenata showed unstalked, unbranched to pseudobranched thalli arising from a basal crust and was characterised by a central axis composed of numerous cortical filaments and radial cells arranged in two layers: a proximal layer not reaching the outer cortex and a distal Y-shaped layer attached to the cortex, with nodal spermatangial sori arranged in rings. Both species were recorded along the Alcantara River, one of the main rivers in eastern Sicily. National Biodiversity Future Center (NBFC) is the first National Research and Innovation Center dedicated to biodiversity, funded by the MUR through European Union funds - NextGenerationEU. There are more than 2,000 researchers from research centers, universities and companies working within the center implementing basic, applied and innovation research actions dedicated to Mediterranean biodiversity to generate value for the country. The objective of this project is to identify suitable strategies for monitoring, conserving, restoring and valorising the biodiversity of species and habitats in different Italian regions. The Center provides scientific knowledge and technological innovation that make it possible to face biodiversity loss, support ecosystem resilience, monitor endangered species, and restore disturbed biological communities, contributing to the goal of protecting 30% of Italy's territory by 2030, as required by the European Union. The NBFC also has the important function of training young researchers and qualified workers l and transferring to the territory the knowledge and skills needed to protect the natural heritage, as enshrined in Article 9 of the Constitution, and generate socio-economic value. To update recent distribution of L. sarawakensis, we compile distribution of the species from confirmed reports and our observations. Some species had their biology studied, indicating that Caenohalictus build nests in the soil and are solitary. A total of 10 species occur in Brazil, but the fauna has never been systematically studied. The objective of this work is to review the species present in southern Brazil, reevaluating known species and describing new species. We examined 627 specimens and recognized twelve species for the region: Caenohalictus curticeps (Vachal, 1903); C. implexus Moure, 1950; C. incertus (Schrottky, 1902); C. palumbes (Vachal, 1903); C. schulthessi (Vachal, 1903); C. tesselatus (Moure, 1940); and six new species: C. arcuatus sp. nov., C. cyanolucens sp. nov., C. leticiae sp. nov., C. longipalpis sp. nov., C. parviformis sp. nov., and C. sesquipalpis sp. nov. Caenohalictus mourei Almeida &amp; Laroca, 2005 is considered to be a junior synonym of C. curticeps; Halictus (Paragapostemon) cicindulus Vachal, 1903 is considered to be a junior synonym of C. incertus. Males of C. implexus and C. palumbes were described for the first time. Subterranean Biology 57: 117-138, DOI: 10.3897/subtbiol.57.202620</p><p>Abstract</p><p>The arachnid order Palpigradi remains poorly studied, particularly with respect to patterns of morphological adaptation to subterranean environments. Subterranean adaptation in palpigrades and comparison with endogean species has been documented scarcely. In this study, Eukoenenia serrana sp. nov. is described as a new species in the E. mirabilis-berlesei group from the cave Sima del Pla de Llomes in eastern Spain. The new species exhibits pronounced troglomorphic features, including large body size and strong elongation of appendicular elements, particularly leg I, while retaining diagnostic characters of the group like the single lateral prosomal organ. We explored the morphological differentiation between endogean and hypogean species in the E. mirabilis-berlesei group, a lineage traditionally regarded as endogean and only marginally associated with caves. An analysis of elongation patterns, with an emphasis on the palp and legs, showed clear differences between species from different habitats using a set of linear measurements and derived ratios related to body and their appendages size. Hypogean species consistently show marked elongation of tibia I, basitarsus IV, and combined tarsus – tibia lengths, whereas changes in overall body characters are more moderate. In contrast, the basitarsus IV / tibia IV ratio remains largely unchanged, indicating proportional elongation of these segments. Highly cave-adapted species in this group retained a single blade in the lateral organ, suggesting that sensory and appendicular traits may evolve independently. 1930s, and serves as an important complementary resource to his numerous publications. Chiosi was an Italian soldier, anti-fascist and partisan, and commander of the ‘Mameli’ Partisan Brigade, which was active on the slopes of Pratomagno, in the Valdarno, during the Second World War. Although not a professional botanist, he became a great expert of plants and collaborated with various academic botanists; he is credited above all with an extensive floristic survey of the Valdarno area around Arezzo, particularly the territories of Montevarchi, San Giovanni and Cavriglia. National Biodiversity Future Center (NBFC) is the first National Research and Innovation Center dedicated to biodiversity, funded by the MUR through European Union funds - NextGenerationEU. There are more than 2,000 researchers from research centers, universities and companies working within the center implementing basic, applied and innovation research actions dedicated to Mediterranean biodiversity to generate value for the country. The Center provides scientific knowledge and technological innovation that make it possible to face biodiversity loss, support ecosystem resilience, monitor endangered species, and restore disturbed biological communities, contributing to the goal of protecting 30% of Italy's territory by 2030, as required by the European Union. During a recent survey of macrofungal diversity across the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau, four specimens morphologically assignable to Cortinarius were collected. Based on detailed morphological characteristics and molecular phylogenetic analyses, these specimens are herein described as two new species within Cortinarius sect. Telamonia. Cortinarius linzhiensis, collected from mixed forests of Quercus and Picea, is characterized by a weakly hygrophanous, wrinkled pileus surface, a margin retaining spiderweb-like veil remnants, and a stipe apex occasionally exhibiting a pale violet tint. Cortinarius pallidomarginatus, collected from subtropical broadleaved forests dominated by Castanopsis, Lithocarpus, and Cyclobalanopsis, is characterized by its reddish-brown pileus with a contrasting white margin. It contains records for 72,365 individually ringed birds.The records originate from 20 administrative regions of Ukraine, excluding the Chernivtsi, Khmelnytskyi, Kirovohrad, Ternopil, and Zakarpattia regions. The highest numbers of ringed birds were recorded in the Odesa (28,834), Crimea (11,638), Mykolaiv (10,601), and Kyiv (10,441) regions.The dataset covers 189 bird species, ranging from common and abundant species to those of high national or international conservation concern, as well as rare vagrant species. Birds were primarily captured using mist nets, although many were ringed at nests or in breeding colonies.Most records were obtained from birds ringed during migration, reflecting the predominance of migration studies in the Ukrainian ringing programme. Within the framework of Negotiation Cluster 4 on Ukraine’s EU accession – “Green Agenda and Sustainable Connectivity”, Chapter 27: Environment and Climate Change, Ukraine is required to reform its nature conservation system in line with the provisions of the Habitats Directive and the Birds Directive. A key element in implementing these Directives is the establishment of the NATURA 2000 network to protect certain species and habitats of EU importance (Articles 3 and 4 of the Habitats Directive and Article 4 of the Birds Directive. Under the Birds Directive, they must designate the core breeding, resting and wintering sites for 190 rare or threatened bird species listed in Annex I of the Directive, as well as for certain other migratory bird species. Under the Habitats Directive, countries must designate sites for over 1000 plant and animal species and 233 habitats. These are listed in Annexes I and II of the Directive respectively. The proposed Project aims to implement steps 3 and 4 and to lay the groundwork for steps 5 and 6. The creation of a dataset for the NATURA 2000 network requires the involvement of hundreds of experts (zoologists and botanists), as well as other stakeholders (local authorities, land users, and state authorities). This work must be carried out for each individual species according to EU methodology. The institutional capacity of state authorities does not enable them to perform this task independently. Therefore, we propose establishing an expert environment to prepare the dataset for the NATURA 2000 network and developing a clear system of interaction and engagement with key stakeholders, primarily state authorities responsible for preparing Ukraine for EU accession in terms of implementing the EU Habitats and Birds Directives' requirements. The implementation of the proposed project will have an impact on the fulfillment of national and international commitments, including the following: The Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union of 16 September 2014, in the section “Nature Protection” (Annex XXX to Chapter 6 “Environment”), provides for the implementation of the provisions of the Habitats and Birds Directives. By Resolution No. 225/3 of 22 January 2025, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Environmental Policy and Nature Management approved the recommendations of the hearings on the topic “Legal framework for the functioning of an effective system of protected areas and sites as a basis for the conservation and restoration of biodiversity: current issues.” These recommendations stipulate the need to ensure the preparation and development of legislative amendments aimed at the full transposition of the provisions of the Habitats and Birds Directives, particularly regarding the establishment of conservation regimes for flora and fauna species listed in the annexes to these directives. According to paragraph 294 of the Government’s Priority Action Plan for 2025, it is envisaged to ensure the preparation of sectoral positions regarding the adaptation of legislation in areas of responsibility, including the field of environmental protection, as well as other international obligations of Ukraine in this area. The primary stakeholders in the implementation of the Project are the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada (Prliament) of Ukraine on Ukraine’s Integration into the European Union and the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine (letters of support from these institutions are attached to the project proposal), as well as the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Environmental Policy and Nature Management. The implementation of the Project directly contributes to the technical work outlined under Cluster 4 on Ukraine’s EU accession – “Green Agenda and Sustainable Connectivity”, Chapter 27: Environment and Climate Change. This work, along with its further communication within the Council of Europe and implementation in Ukraine, falls under the mandate of these government bodies, particularly regarding the transposition of EU directives.
