This dataset comes from a series of collections made by Albert H. Banner in 1954 while on a Yale University-University of Hawaii-Bishop Museum Grant; it deals with those shrimps collected in the Fiji, Tonga , and Samoa archipelagoes.
The original paper describing this collection was prepared in final form in December 1961, complete with plates, maps, locality records, etc., but it was destroyed in the fire at the Hawaii Marine Laboratory. Lost also in the fire were the specimens in .the collection and the field notes. The sections of the paper dealing with Fiji, Tonga, and Western Samoa were salvaged in part from the partially burned original study notes and in part from the first draft of the text: for American Samoa we were able to make another collection which partially replaced the lost collection. Certain ambiguities in the preliminary notes could not be resolved for this final completed paper by reference to the original specimens, as is normally done.

Abstract
Princaxelia Dahl, 1959, is a genus containing predatory pardaliscid amphipods, typically captured in small numbers from hadal trenches (> 6,000 m ocean depth). Here, two new species, Princaxelia malohi Duffy & Wainwright, sp. nov. and Princaxelia kahat Duffy & Wainwright, sp. nov., are added to the genus based on key morphological features to bring the total number of species of Princaxelia to seven. DNA barcodes at the 16 S and COI region are also provided for all type specimens where possible to add to the limited but growing number available. Princaxelia malohi sp. nov. was described from five specimens captured using baited landers between 8,200 –8,350 m water depth in the Tonga Trench. They exhibit the first identified record of Princaxelia from this hadal feature. Key diagnostic features include the presence of two plumose setae on the inner plate of maxilla 1 and one projection near the base of the dactylus in gnathopods 1 and 2. The second species, Princaxelia kahat sp. nov., is described from between 8,000 –8,964 m in the Mariana Trench, and is the second species described from this hadal feature. Key diagnostic features for this species include the presence of six plumose setae on the inner plate of maxilla 1, and three to four projections near the base of the dactylus in gnathopod 1, and four to five projections on the base of the dactylus in gnathopod 2. Abstract
Three bamboo-feeding new species of the genus Vekunta Distant, 1906, V. deflecta Yao, Sui & Chen, sp. nov., V. fodingshanensis Yao, Sui & Chen, sp. nov. and V. furcata Yao, Sui & Chen, sp. nov., are described and illustrated from Guizhou Province, China. Vekunta fuscolineata, previously known from Korea, is recorded from China for the first time. A checklist and a key to the males of the genus Vekunta from China are supplemented.

balance hídrico. El monitoreo cuidadoso de variables ambientales y la medición de parámetros fisiológicos y anatómicos clave permiten trazar un cuadro detallado de cómo la planta se aclimata a su nuevo entorno. El presente estudio busca información clave sobre la variación en la respuesta morfo-fisiológica del género Cattleya sp. bajo distintos ambientes semicontrolados en el Tropicario; lo que puede ser útil para su reintroducción en la naturaleza o su manejo en jardines botánicos y programas de restauración ecológica. Se hizo seguimiento de crecimiento foliar y radicular, atributos funcionales foliares, así como seguimiento de intercambio gaseoso, eficiencia cuántica del fotosistema II (PhiPSII) y tasa de transporte de electrones (ETR). Se encontró que, para Cattleya sp. trasplantada a troncos tras un periodo de endurecimiento, las mejores condiciones de aclimatación fisiológica y morfológica se obtienen en domos con humedad alta, déficit de presión de vapor (VPD) moderado, radiación fotosintéticamente activa (PAR) controlada y estabilidad térmica similar a la reportada en los domos Bh-T y SC, que deberían considerarse ambientes de referencia para el diseño de protocolos de conservación ex situ y reintroducción.
Este recurso de datos consta de 330 registros de medidas ecofisiológicas de 55 individuos del género Cattleya distribuidos en cuatro invernaderos: Subdirección Científica (SC) y en los tres domos del Tropicario Selva Húmeda (Bh-T), Bosque seco (Bs-T) y CEPAC en 6 periodos de tiempo diferentes entre mayo y septiembre de 2025: Conductancia stomática (gsW, mol+1m-2s-1); Transpiración (E_apparent, mmol+1m-2s-1); Déficit de presión de vapor de la hoja (VDPleaf, kPa); Eficiencia cuántica del fotosistema II (PhiPS2); Tasa de transporte de electrones (ETR, umol+1m-2s-1); Temperatura de la hoja (Tleaf, C); y, Radiación fotosintéticamente activa (Qamb, umol+1m-2s-1).

El Jardín Botánico se localiza en la ciudad de Bogotá, a aproximadamente 2.600 m s. n. m., bajo un clima frío andino caracterizado por temperaturas medias anuales cercanas a los 14 °C, alta nubosidad y marcada variabilidad diaria en radiación solar. Abstract
Two new sympatric cavernicolous species of the millipede genus Plusioglyphiulus Silvestri, 1923, are described from Battambang Province, northwestern Cambodia: Plusioglyphiulus parviserratus Likhitrakarn & Seesamut, sp. nov. and Plusioglyphiulus battambangensis Likhitrakarn & Seesamut, sp. nov. Both new taxa are diagnosed based on an integrated taxonomic approach combining morphological features and mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) gene sequences from a previous study. Plusioglyphiulus parviserratus sp. nov. is distinguished from all congeners by having the male leg 1 telopodite distinctly 2 - segmented with a rudimentary, knob-like second telopoditomere, the anterior gonopod coxosternal processes long, slender, and regularly curved anteriorly, resembling a bird’s head, and a unique micro-serrate upper margin of the broad flagellum process. In contrast, P. battambangensis sp. nov. is characterized by a distinct carinotaxic formula of the collum, a significantly smaller second telopoditomere on the male leg 1, a slender, elongated, paramedian coxal process of the posterior gonopod, and a narrow, smooth-margined flagellum process. The two new species are separated from each other by an interspecific COI p-distance of 10.3 % and show divergences of 9.6–9.9 % from their closest known relatives, all lying well within the stable range observed for species boundaries in the Cambalopsidae and therefore strongly supporting their independent specific status.
Beyond traditional descriptions, this study evaluates the resolution efficiency and practical limitations of multiple imaging modalities, including the standard transmission light photography, traditional line drawings, scanning electron microscopy, and micro-computed tomography scanning. While 3 D µCT reconstructions provide powerful, non-destructive visualizations of external somatic architectures, we demonstrate that current in-situ tomographic data remain insufficient for resolving the highly condensed, tightly appressed gonopodial microscopic characters, thereby emphasizing the continued necessity of physical dissection and SEM in cambalopsid taxonomy.
These findings increase the number of Plusioglyphiulus species currently known to occur in Cambodia to six, highlighting the significant, yet severely understudied, cavernicolous diplopod diversity in the country’s extensive karst systems. An updated identification key to all six Cambodian Plusioglyphiulus species is provided. These discoveries underscore the critical need for continued taxonomic exploration and the implementation of conservation strategies for the imperiled limestone karst ecosystems in the region.

Abstract
The Hexatoma (Eriocera) plumbicincta (Brunetti, 1911) species group is a distinctive and species-poor lineage within the subgenus Hexatoma (Eriocera) Macquart, 1838. Only two species of this species group had previously been recorded from China. In the present study, H. (E.) chrysomela (Edwards, 1921) is redescribed and newly recorded from Guizhou Province, Hunan Province, and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China, and a new species of this species group, H. (E.) guangxiensis sp. nov., is described and illustrated from Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Yunnan Province. A key to the plumbicincta species group occurring in China is provided.

Abstract
The Stenothemus volaticus species group is proposed, comprising a total of 13 species from the Himalayas and southwestern China. Within this group, two new species are described under the names of S. dromoensis sp. nov., and S. liangi sp. nov. Meanwhile, the female internal reproductive organs of S. schneideri Švihla, 2004 and S. volaticus Champion, 1925 are illustrated for the first time. An identification key for the species and a distribution map of the S. volaticus species group are provided.

Abstract
Primula exserta Lei Cai, Gui L. Zhang & Z. K. Wu, a new species of Primulaceae from Yunnan, China, is described and illustrated. Morphological evidence supports its placement within Primula sect. Aleuritia, a section characterized by entirely glabrous plants that lack scales at the base of the leaf rosette, has a moderate to small habit and typically bears farina on the foliage and scape. The new species differs from other members of this section by its petiole with broad wings, 7–8 - lobed corolla and calyx, corresponding 7–8 stamens, and elongated filaments and a style exserted far beyond the mouth of the corolla tube. Information on its distribution, a morphological comparison with related species, and a preliminary assessment of its conservation status are also provided.

Abstract
Allaeochelys crassesculpta is a carettochelyid turtle from the middle Eocene Messel Pit, near Messel, Germany. The species is known by one of the richest fossil records among turtles consisting of dozens of specimens, of which most represent near-complete and articulated skeletons. Despite this richness, the osteology of Allaeochelys crassesculpta is only known superficially as its anatomy was never described in detail. Here, we use micro-computed laminography and tomography to investigate the anatomy of the skull, shell, and appendicular skeleton and provide high-resolution 3 D reconstructions of the cranium, mandible, and fore- and hindlimb. Allaeochelys crassesculpta exhibits an interesting mosaic of features, which are typical of early branching carettochelyids (e. g. a deeper and larger antrum postoticum, a foramen posterius canalis carotici interni located more anteriorly) and more advanced taxa (e. g. presence of a maxilla-quadratojugal contact below the jugal, complete loss of carapace and plastral scutes). We assemble and analyze a new phylogenetic matrix to test the impact of recent anatomical works on the evolutionary history of carettochelyids. We also provide evidence that Allaeochelys crassesculpta was capable of ‘ synchronous rowing, ’ the unique locomotor mode employed by the extant pig-nosed turtle Carettochelys insculpta and suggest that the acquisition of this peculiar trait may have occurred during the Late Cretaceous to Paleocene.

Abstract
The species of the genus Epsilon de Saussure, 1855 occurring in the Malay Archipelago are reviewed. Four new species are described, namely Epsilon bertschi sp. nov. (Lesser Sunda Islands: Sumba), Epsilon latefasciatum sp. nov. (Java), Epsilon perforatum sp. nov. (Sulawesi) and Epsilon tigrinum sp. nov. (New Guinea). Epsilon grandipunctatum Gusenleitner, 1996 syn. nov. is synonymized under Epsilon dyscherum (de Saussure, 1853), and Epsilon manifestum crassipunctatum Gusenleitner, 1991 is raised to species rank (Epsilon crassipunctatum stat. nov.). Photographic reference for each species and an identification key are provided.

Abstract
The species of Asyndetus Loew (Diptera: Dolichopodidae) occurring in the West Indies are reviewed and nine species are recognized, including five new species: A. ammophilus Loew, A. atratus sp. nov., A. caribeus sp. nov., A. erosicornis sp. nov., A. flabellifer sp. nov., A. fratellus Aldrich, A. interruptus (Loew), A. pogonops Robinson and A. virginensis sp. nov. An unnamed tenth species, known from females, is reported. Males of the new species have partly sclerotized, mandible-like labella, which is rare in brachyceran Diptera. Previous reports of A. syntormoides Wheeler in the West Indies are determined to be erroneous. The following new synonyms are proposed: Asyndetus deficiens Robinson = A. fratellus, syn. nov.; A. dominicensis Robinson = A. fratellus, syn. nov.; A. exiguus Van Duzee = A. fratellus, syn. nov. and A. currani Van Duzee = A. fratellus, syn. nov. The species are illustrated, distributions mapped, and a key to males is provided.

Abstract
Deep-sea settings in the Eastern Tropical Pacific remain a poorly understood region with many further species awaiting discovery. Herein, four new species from Costa Rica are described from deep-sea habitats. New occurrences with in situ or living observations are made for eight species. New observations of hippasterine corallivory on deep-sea octocorals are included. A brief summary of Costa Rican species is presented.

Abstract
The generic characters of the stag beetle genus Ceruchus MacLeay are comprehensively reviewed and refined based on the examination of type material of most Chinese species. In this study, one new species, Ceruchus ahualuo Huang, Liu & Wan, sp. nov. is described and illustrated from Yunnan, China. In addition, an updated diagnostic key to all known Chinese species of Ceruchus is provided, together with a distribution map of the genus in China.

Reconociendo que la conservación efectiva requiere comprender la biodiversidad que sostienen estos ecosistemas, Fundación Cataruben implementó un programa de monitoreo biológico complementario a los objetivos centrales del proyecto.
Durante el segundo semestre de 2023, se llevó a cabo un importante ciclo de monitoreo biológico comunitario en cincuenta predios privados ubicados en los municipios de La Primavera, Santa Rosalía, Cabuyaro, Cumaribo, Puerto López, San Martín y Puerto Carreño en el departamento de Vichada y Meta. Durante su desarrollo, los propietarios contribuyeron activamente en la instalación de equipos e identificación de sitios de alta actividad de fauna. De tal forma se implementaron tecnologías de monitoreo no invasivo, como fueron grabadoras autónomas de sonido, AudioMoth, que capturaron continuamente los paisajes sonoros de las aves en su comportamiento natural durante un periodo mínimo de 5 días donde el dispositivo grabó un minuto de por cada 30 minutos que pasaban las 24 horas del día.
Este conjunto de datos representa una línea base de biodiversidad para las áreas bajo conservación y aporta al conocimiento de la fauna de la Orinoquía colombiana.

Abstract
During a survey of entomopathogenic fungi in Guizhou’s Fodingshan Nature Reserve, three new Cordycipitaceae species – Arachnidicola fodingshanensis sp. nov., Simplicillium fodingshanense sp. nov., and S. shiqianense sp. nov. — were discovered and described. Arachnidicola fodingshanensis, isolated from a dead spider, forms a clade with A. kanyawimiae and A. sinensis, but distinguishable by its longer phialides and ovoid to ellipsoidal conidia in culture. The nucleotide base comparison demonstrates that the species slightly differs from A. kanyawimiae, whereas greater divergence is observed from A. sinensis (1.56 % in ITS, 0.79 % in LSU, 3.87 % in rpb 2, and 0.91 % in tef - 1 α). Simplicillium fodingshanense (isolated from a lepidopteran cocoon) and S. shiqianense (isolated from a dead spider) both cluster with S. subtropicum but form distinct, well-supported independent lineages (100 % ML / 1 PP). The interspecific nucleotide differences demonstrate that the species differ from related taxa by 1.03–1.54 % in ITS, 0.25–0.90 % in LSU, and 1.40–1.89 % in tef - 1 α. Morphologically, S. fodingshanense is characterized by longer phialides than S. shiqianense and differs further in host association. The species is also readily distinguished from S. subtropicum by the absence of octahedral crystals, and by producing cylindrical to ellipsoidal conidia. In contrast, S. shiqianense is distinguished from S. subtropicum by its shorter phialides, the absence of both octahedral crystals and conidial slime head in culture, and its distinct host / substrate. The PHI test further supports genetic distinctness for Arachnidicola (Φw = 0.6876) and Simplicillium (Φw = 0.1587). Overall, these findings underscore the Fodingshan Reserve as a significant hotspot for fungal diversity and highlight the value of continued exploration in this underexplored karst region.

Abstract
Eight fungal strains isolated from agricultural soils in mountainous regions of Yunnan Province, China, were identified as three novel species of Penicillium section Lanata-Divaricata based on morphological characteristics and multi-locus phylogenetic analyses. Phylogenetic inference using four gene regions, including the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region, β-tubulin (BenA), calmodulin (CaM), and the second largest subunit of RNA polymerase II (RPB 2), supported the recognition of these isolates as distinct species. The new taxa are described here as P. longyangense (series Janthinella), P. longlingense (series Dalearum), and P. zhenyuanense (series Rolfsiorum). Morphological comparisons with closely related species further confirmed their taxonomic placement. The discovery of these species expands the known diversity of Penicillium section Lanata-Divaricata and improves our understanding of the species distribution of soilborne Penicillium in mountainous agricultural ecosystems of Yunnan, China.

Abstract
Dinopelma Bates, 1889 species from Mindanao Island, Philippines, are reviewed. Examination of material representing the two species previously described from Mindanao showed that they represent immature and mature forms of the same species. Therefore, the following synonymy is established: Dinopelma lineola Andrewes, 1932 = D. marginatum Andrewes, 1932 syn. nov. Dinopelma pandanicola sp. nov. is described from two localities on Mindanao Island. Owing to the absence of basolateral pronotal setae, the new species resembles D. angustum Andrewes, 1931 from Borneo, but it differs in its larger body size, more broadly rounded lateral margins of the pronotum, and male genitalia. A lectotype is designated for D. marginatum Andrewes, 1932. The two species currently known from Mindanao are diagnosed, and their habitus and male genitalia are illustrated. We also briefly discuss characters distinguishing the genera Dinopelma and Hexagonia Kirby, 1825. Leaf axils of various Pandanaceae are recorded as a preferred habitat of hexagoniine ground beetles in Mindanao.
