It is divided into a Phanerogamic Section, with approximately 140,000 specimens, and a Cryptogamic Section, which is further divided into the Algological (approximately 5,400 specimens), Lichenological (one of the largest in Italy with over 46,000 specimens), Bryological (approximately 1,000 specimens), and Pteridological (approximately 2,500 specimens) sections.
