The methods used was deemed suitable to assess the sampling of all species occurring in the area of the study block and IBA, and of an associated control area. For the purpose of estimating the number of grids to be sampled, the overlap of the UTM grid with the study area was considered, determined as the area defined by the outer limits of the Irrigation Block and the Cuba IBA, plus a buffer of 500 m, as well as by the control area. In addition, all UTM grids with less than 50% of the area within the study area were removed from the study area.
