All surface sediment samples (0-1 cm) were preserved onboard in a 70% ethanol solution stained with 2 g L-1 rose Bengal.","methodSteps":["The surface sediment (0-1 cm) was washed over a 500 and 63 μm mesh sieve. The 63-500 μm fraction was split using a wet splitter and further subdivided into two fractions: 63-125 μm and 125-500 μm. The rB–stained foraminifera (>63 μm) were wet-picked, identified, and counted under a Nikon SMZ18 stereomicroscope.
