In this case, all sites with potential as nesting platforms such as buildings, ruins or other abandoned human structures and cliffs, (with regard to rock-dwelling species) in the study area were visited. \n\nAll surveys were carried out  monthly during the nesting period, between April and July, a time frame particularly aimed at the lesser kestrel, the Bonelli's eagle (Aquila fasciata) and the golden eagle (Aquila chrysaetos). As part of this work, pairs of rollers (Coracias garrulus) and species whose survey using the Atlas methodology would tend to be poorly represented, for example some nocturnal birds of prey, are also recorded. Nests identified in previous EDIA surveys are also visited.
