This dataset contains breeding bird records collected by DOF Nordvestjylland within selected project areas in National Park Thy, Denmark.
The collaboration between DOF Nordvestjylland and National Park Thy aims to improve knowledge about the effects of different projects within National Park Thy. These projects may include nature management initiatives as well as assessments of the effects of recreational facilities. The knowledge collected through the project is intended to support the development and improvement of nature management both within and beyond National Park Thy.
For species covered by a NOVANA technical guideline, the relevant guideline is used. For other species, the methodology follows “Guidelines for counting breeding birds in Vejlerne” ("Vejledning i optælling af ynglefugle i Vejlerne").
The collaboration began in 2022 and has no defined end date. The dataset is therefore expected to develop into a long-term and continuous dataset. The records are collected by volunteers, whose contribution is essential to the implementation of the project.
