They were driven at low speeds (less than 20 km/h) during the cooler periods of the day (early morning and late afternoon). frequent stopping points were made in places with good visibility to locate the birds. All detections of the species were noted in a field form specifically made for this purpose. These forms included (a) the location (with geographic coordinates), (b) the distance and to the observer and side of the road, (c) time, (d) number of individuals, (e) sex, (f) age (classifying each animal as Immature, Juvenile, Sub-adult or Adult), (g) behavior and (h) predominant habitat of occurrence. Additionaly, the following metadata were included: (a) day of the visit, start and end time of the transect, observer identification, weather conditions in qualitative scales (cloud cover, temperature wind and rainfall. \n\nThe geographic coordinates of the starting point of each transect is given in columns “decimalLatitude”/decimalLongitude”. Regarding the habitat of occurrence, a pre-stablished list of habitat classes was used, which based on the COS 2007 (Land Use and Occupation Chart for Mainland Portugal for 2007), produced by the Portuguese Geographical Institute.","qualityControl":"All identifications were performed by qualified technicians","methodSteps":["To be completed"]},"countryCoverage":[],"collections":[],"dataDescriptions":[],"dataLanguage":"eng","purpose":"<p>This dataset is part of a broader initiative whereby the company EDIA, S.A. will make available all biodiversity data collected during impact assessment and biological monitoring studies.</p>","pubDate":"2026-04-08T00:00:00.000+00:00","maintenanceUpdateFrequency":"AS_NEEDED","maintenanceDescription":"This resource will be regularly checked for accuracy.","license":"http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/legalcode","dwca":{"coreType":"http://rs.tdwg.org/dwc/terms/Event","extensions":["http://rs.tdwg.org/dwc/terms/Occurrence"],"modified":"2026-07-13T09:40:10.165+00:00"},"approximateCounts":{"occurrenceCount":5}}
