No obstante, el análisis integrado entre 2019 y 2025 constituyen una base sólida para la formulación de estrategias de conservación, restauración y manejo sostenible. Bajo este contexto, es importante indicar que los análisis fisicoquímicos, microbiológicos y biológicos (análisis de la estructura comunitaria de macroinvertebrados) en la quebrada Higinia, han permitido identificar puntos críticos de contaminación, reconocer variaciones en la calidad del agua entre épocas secas y lluviosas, establecer la relación entre presiones antrópicas y respuesta biológica del ecosistema, y entre otros aspectos evaluar la productividad secundaria como indicador adicional de integridad ecológica; Por tanto los resultados obtenidos durante estos años, fortalecen la capacidad de toma de decisiones del territorio, aportan lineamientos esenciales para mejorar la calidad del agua y el bienestar de las comunidades que dependen de esta fuente hídrica.</p>","language":"spa","homepage":"https://ipt.biodiversidad.co/iiap/resource?r=macroinvertebradoshiginiaiiap2025&amp;v=1.0","logoUrl":"https://statics.sibcolombia.net/sib-resources/images/logos-socios/500px/iiap.jpg","citation":{"text":"Romaña Palacios A, Vargas Porras L, Bonilla N S (2026). Esta quebrada se caracteriza por la presencia de vegetación ribereña densa, que limita la penetración de luz hacia el cuerpo de agua. Se observa acumulación de hojarasca y sustrato principalmente pedregoso, acompañado de ramas y trancos en descomposición. Presenta poca profundidad, escasa corriente y un tramo estrecho o angosto, lo que favorece la retención de material vegetal","sampling":"Para el levantamiento de registros de macroinvertebrados en campo se aplicó lo siguiente:\n\nSelección y caracterización de los sitios de muestreo\nRegistro y conteo de especímenes en los sustratos del ecosistema\nDeterminación taxonómica de especímenes","methodSteps":["La colecta de los macroinvertebrados acuáticos en la quebrada Higinia se realizó́ utilizando la metodología propuesta por Prat et. al, (2012), se escogieron varios tramos de la quebrada, donde se establecieron 8 puntos de muestreo como se mencionó́ antes. En cada uno de los puntos se seleccionó́ un área más o menos de 10 metros tomados a partir de la longitud axial de la quebrada; luego se tomaron para cada punto los sustratos que ofreció́ el ecosistema, estos fueron (T, L, M, VR, H, P y A). La captura de los macroinvertebrados en cada uno de los sustratos se realizó́ siguiendo la metodología de Ramírez (2010), en un cubrimiento de un área de 1 m2 aproximadamente. A partir de allí́ se realizó́ un barrido utilizando la red Súber haciendo el ejercicio por 9 veces consecutivas en los sustratos tronco, piedra, lodo y arena, el cernidor fue utilizado por 8 veces en los sustratos como vegetación ribereña, hojarasca y musgo, para así́ determinar la cantidad de individuos en el agua por m2 además se utilizaron las pinzas entomológicas y bandejas plásticas para facilitar la captura en el método directo. Luego, estos organismos fueron depositados en frascos plásticos previamente rotulados con alcohol al 70% y se identificaron en los laboratorios del Instituto de Investigaciones ambientales del Pacífico con las claves especializadas de Merrit & Cummis (1996), Domínguez et al.
