The CAMP aims to introduce young people to marine biology and techniques for sampling fish fauna. Young people are thus invited to participate in a scientific project that aims to develop a reference database on fish and crustaceans found at the mouths of rivers and in the bays of the North Shore, namely the *baie des Îles de Mai*, the *baie des Sept Îles*, the *rivière Moisie*, the *rivière Sheldrake*, the *rivière Saint-Jean* and the *petite rivière Natashquan*. During outings, young people are invited to follow a scientific protocol and are actively involved in sampling (taking physicochemical data from the water, inventorying fish using a beach seine, identifying and measuring organisms and algae). Data for this project has been collected since 2011. However, since 2017, data has been collected only in the Bay of Sept-Îles.
Le PCSA vise à initier les jeunes à la biologie marine et aux techniques d’échantillonnage de la faune ichtyenne. Les jeunes sont ainsi amenés à participer à un projet scientifique qui vise à élaborer une base de données de référence sur les poissons et les crustacés retrouvés à l’embouchure des rivières et dans les baies de la Côte-Nord, soit la baie des Îles de Mai, la baie des Sept Îles, la rivière Moisie, la rivière Sheldrake, la rivière Saint-Jean et la petite rivière Natashquan. Lors des sorties, les jeunes sont invités à suivre un protocole scientifique et sont activement impliqués dans la réalisation de l’échantillonnage (prise des données physico-chimiques de l’eau, inventaire des poissons à l’aide d’une senne de plage, identification et mesure des organismes et des algues). Les données dans le cadre de ce projet sont collectées depuis 2011. Cependant, depuis 2017, les données sont collectées uniquement dans la baie de Sept-Îles.
