assignment."},"samplingDescription":{"studyExtent":"The specimens recorded came from various collection events undertaken predominantly by museum staff and their associates over a wide range of time and localities. They are sometimes collected as by-catch of other targeted taxa for separate research projects.","sampling":"Although not explicit in the specimen labels, it is known that water measurer specimens were often collected accidentally by the use of aquatic nets, sieve nets and other freshwater sampling equipment when used along the banks of streams and rivers.","qualityControl":"Quality control procedures are ongoing.","methodSteps":["Museum specimen labels were removed from the specimen bottles for clear transcription of label data, including species identification labels and collecting event labels. The total number of specimens in each jar is also counted manually to verify the number of individuals present, even though the specimen count is written on the labels. There were occasions where the numbers do not tally and the actual physical count is logged instead. No verification of the sexes and wing type were performed and information were directly recorded from the labels when available.
