ABSTRACT
Preservation of the digestive system in trilobites is extremely rare: from the Barrandian area, such remains have been recorded in two Cambrian and eight Ordovician trilobite genera. In this contribution we describe eight new examples of articulated trilobites displaying remains of the digestive system in the axial parts of the cephalon and thorax from the middle Cambrian Buchava Formation of the Skryje-Týřovice Basin. All studied specimens are identified as Ptychoparioides henkli Kordule, 2006 and exhibit up to four pairs of cavities or light-coloured markings under the central and posterior parts of the glabella, one pair in the occipital ring and up to six pairs in the axis of the anterior thoracic segments. These cavities or light-coloured markings are interpreted as remains of metamerically paired digestive caeca of the «perigastric organ». An anteriorly rounded, posteriorly widely V-shaped body preserved in the frontal glabellar lobe of a conical glabella in one specimen most probably represents a remnant of the foregut chamber. These specimens constitute the first example of digestive structures observed in Cambrian ptychopariid trilobites in the Barrandian area. A dark-coloured axial surface preserved in eight thoracic segments between and behind paired cavities or markings is present in two specimens; this surface is interpreted as remains of the hindgut. The occurrence of trilobites preserving digestive-system remains together with locally abundant articulated echinoderms and ontogenetic stages of trilobites, as well as previously described bivalved arthropods, confirm that the depositional environment of the Buchava Formation was favourable for exceptional preservation of fossils, including soft-tissue preservation.

Restes du système digestif du trilobite du Cambrien moyen Ptychoparioides henkli Kordule, 2006 (région du Barrandien, République tchèque).
La conservation du système digestif des trilobites est extrêmement rare: dans la région du Barrandien, de tels restes ont été découverts, correspondant à deux genres de trilobites du Cambrien et huit genres de l’Ordovicien. Nous décrivons huit nouveaux exemples de trilobites articulés présentant des restes de système digestif dans les parties axiales du céphalon et du thorax. Tous proviennent de la Formation de Buchava (Cambrien moyen), du bassin de Skryje-Týřovice. L’ensemble des spécimens étudiés sont identifiés comme Ptychoparioides henkli Kordule, 2006 et présentent jusqu’à quatre paires de cavités ou de marques de couleur claire sous les parties centrale et postérieure de la glabelle, une paire dans l’anneau occipital et jusqu’à six paires dans l’axe des segments thoraciques antérieurs. Ces cavités, ou marques de couleur claire, sont interprétées comme des restes de caeca digestifs appariés métamériquement de « l’organe périgastrique ». Chez un spécimen, un corps arrondi à l’avant, et en forme de large V à l’arrière, conservé dans le lobe glabellaire frontal d’une glabelle conique, représente très probablement un vestige de la chambre de l’intestin antérieur. Ces spécimens constituent le premier exemple de structures digestives observées chez les trilobites ptychopariidés du Cambrien dans la région barrandienne. Une surface axiale de couleur foncée préservée dans huit segments thoraciques entre et derrière des cavités ou des marques appariées est présente dans deux spécimens; cette surface est interprétée comme des restes de l’intestin postérieur. La présence de trilobites présentant des restes de système digestif, d’échinodermes articulés (localement abondants), de stades ontogénétiques de trilobites, ainsi que d’arthropodes bivalves décrits dans une étude précédente, confirment que l’environnement de dépôt de la Formation de Buchava était favorable à une conservation exceptionnelle des fossiles, y compris des tissus mous.

ABSTRACT
A new species of Nanorana is described based on five specimens collected from Yongde County, Lincang City, Yunnan Province, China. Phylogenetically, the new species formed a distinct clade closely related to N. maculosa and N. chayuensis. Morphologically, the new species is most similar to N. maculosa, however, it can be distinguished from the latter by having relatively larger eyes, relatively smaller interorbital distance, relatively smoother and tighter skin, and incurved webbing between toes. This study brings the total number of recognized species of the genus Nanorana to 34, of which 25 occur in China.

ABSTRACT
Ichthyofaunal diversity monitoring through in-situ approaches is crucial in critical habitats like rocky reefs, which serves critical ecological role including feeding, breeding, and nursery grounds for various marine organisms. However, these ecosystems face significant threats like habitat loss, pollution, climate change, and overfishing. This study evaluates the efficacy of underwater visual census (UVS) in documenting rocky reef associated fish diversity along the Kerala coast, southwest coast of India. Underwater surveys were conducted between December 2013 and February 2018 across varying reef habitats, including shallow waters of reefs (1m), intertidal reef (1-5 m), and adjacent sandy bottom of reefs (06 - 12 m). The study documented ichthyofaunal diversity and used extrapolation and modelling to predict species diversity at depths of 15– 30 m. A total of 232 fish species were recorded, representing two classes, 16 orders, 62 families, and 114 genera. Notably, 31 species from 17 families and 24 genera had extended distribution ranges within the Indian Ocean and India. Among this, 13 species were identified as first report from Indian waters, and 18 were new regional distributional records from Kerala coast. This study underscores the significance of in-situ approaches such as UVS in biodiversity assessments of rocky reef ecosystems. The results were explicating the detailed and follow-up study of reef-associated biodiversity, particularly in species-rich and ecologically sensitive habitats, to enhance conservation and management strategies for marine ecosystems.

ABSTRACT
Crinoidea is the class of marine animals composed of crinoids, which comprises the feather-stars or sea-lilies. Vast arrays of living and extinct species are found in shallow water to great depths in this most primitive of living classes of Echinodermata (Pandian, 2018). Many species of stalked crinoids live in deep seas and a few are sessile, which are exhibited on rocky beaches. There are a variety of colors, from the most vibrant animals to the pale or colorless. Only the genus Comanthus A.H.Clark, 1908 is found in Pakistani waters. Presently we described the taxonomy of shallow-water Comanthus wahlbergii (Müller, 1843) that were collected from Jiwani (Pakistan) (25°03’06’’N 61°44’35’’E).

Abstract
The sharpshooter genus Cavichiana Mejdalani et al., 2014 previously included three species: C. bromelicola Mejdalani et al., 2014 (type species), C. alpina Quintas et al., 2020, and C. caelivittata Mejdalani et al., 2023. These species occur exclusively on bromeliads in southeastern and southern Brazil. Here we describe a new species, C. coeruleomaculata, from Caparaó National Park, municipality of Ibitirama, state of Espírito Santo, southeastern Brazil (so far, the northernmost known record of the genus). The new taxon can be distinguished by the head with small bluish-white spots; forewings with large bluish-white transcommissural macula with anterior part covering scutellum; and aedeagus with conspicuous posterior projection directed dorsally and lacking apical crown of spines. An updated diagnosis of Cavichiana is presented, considering character variation found in species described after the original genus description. Also, a key to the known species of Cavichiana is provided and the distribution of the genus is discussed.

Abstract
In Mi et al. (2026; IMA Fungus 17: e 179140), ten new combinations were proposed in Funiliomyces. Subsequent review revealed that certain requirements of the International Code of Nomenclature for algae, fungi, and plants (ICNafp; Turland et al. 2025, Madrid Code) were not fully met. Specifically, for Funiliomyces biseptatus (Mi et al. 2026), the basionym indicates that the intended spelling of the epithet should be F. biseptatus. However, this spelling would result in a later homonym of Funiliomyces biseptatus (Aptroot 2004), the type species of the genus, thereby rendering the name illegitimate. In addition, the newly proposed combinations were not registered in Index Fungorum prior to publication as required under Art. F. 5.2, and the identifiers cited corresponded to the basionyms rather than to the new combinations. This corrigendum provides a replacement name, Funiliomyces biseptatisporus nom. nov., and presents a corrected, Code-compliant treatment of all nine combinations, including newly issued Index Fungorum identifiers.

The feeding ecology of five elasmobranch species was studied on the southern coast of Rio de Janeiro, southwestern Atlantic Ocean. The specimens were caught with a trawl or bottom longline between January 2006 and August 2007. The diets of Psammobatis rutrum and Psammobatis extenta appeared to be basically carcino-benthophagous, with a very small niche width. Rioraja agassizii was basically carcino/ichthyo-benthophagous, also with a narrow niche, including teleost fish and shrimp, but in different proportions according to age and sex. Rhizoprionodon lalandii was ichthyophagous, not influenced by age or sex. The analyses of these species and Atlantoraja cyclophora indicated two trophic groups: one composed of the smaller rays, P. extenta and P. rutrum, which basically fed on small crustaceans, polychaetes and nematodes; and the other of R. lalandii and the larger rays R. agassizii and A. cyclophora, which preyed on teleost fish and brachyurans.

Abstract
Two new species of the genus Neoperla, N. luocheng sp. nov. and N. pianma sp. nov. are described from Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Yunnan Province, China, respectively. The new species were assigned to the Neoperla (Formosita) sinensis-g roup and Neoperla (Formosita) lushana- complex. The new species were compared with related species in the subgenus.

Abstract
A new species of galatheid squat lobster, Galathea balasubramaniani sp. nov. is described from Lakshadweep Island, India. The G. balasubramaniani sp. nov. belongs to the ‘ G. mauritiana ’ group, identified through having a pterygostomian flap with 1 or 2 spines and an uninterrupted mesogastric ridge. This group includes: G. acis Macpherson & Robainas-Barcia, 2015, G. aequata Macpherson & Robainas-Barcia, 2015, G. ahyongi Macpherson & Robainas-Barcia, 2015, G. mauritiana Bouvier, 1914 and G. senta Macpherson & Robainas-Barcia, 2015. The G. balasubramaniani sp. nov. resembles G. mauritiana Bouvier, 1914, but differs based on the presence of an epipod on P1, and P2 with propodus 4.2– 4.7 times as long as wide and the merus with the proximal spine reaching or slightly over-reaching the distal margin of the article. Maximum Likelihood analysis of the new species, using mitochondrial genes cytochrome c oxidase (COI) and 16S rRNA also supported the findings and suggests that G. balasubramaniani sp. nov. is closely related to G. mauritiana, with pairwise genetic distances estimated at 6.0–14.3 % (COI) and 3.1–16.9% (16S rRNA).

A new species of the loricariid genus Pareiorhaphis is described based on specimens from several tributaries of the upper and middle rio Jequitinhonha basin, Minas Gerais State, eastern Brazil. The new species increases the number of known species of Pareiorhaphis to 25 and, at the same time, represents the second member of the subfamily Neoplecostominae reported from the rio Jequitinhonha basin. The new species is diagnosed from all remaining congeners by a putative autapomorphic feature related to the color pattern: a well-defined, dark brown stripe on the median series of lateral plates that extends along the flank from the posterior margin of compound pterotic to the caudal-fin base. The shallow caudal peduncle and the comparatively larger number of dentary teeth also distinguish the new species from most congeners. The new species is also compared to Pareiorhaphis stephanus, a syntopic congener with similar traits.

ABSTRACT
Hechtia atlantica Hern.-Cárdenas, Espejo & López-Ferr., sp. nov., a new taxon from the state of Veracruz in Mexico, is described and illustrated. The proposed species is compared with H. myriantha Mez and H. schottii Baker, taxa with some similarities. Hechtia atlantica sp. nov. differs from these by the size of the rosette and leaf sheath, the shape of the sepals and petals of the staminate flowers, and the flowering season. A morphological description and images of the new species are provided, as well as a comparison table, an identification key, a list of examined specimens, and a distribution map of all Hechtia Klotzsch species present in Veracruz.

We provide cytogenetic data for the threatened species Gymnogeophagus setequedas, and the first record of that species collected in the Iguaçu River, within the Iguaçu National Park’s area of environmental preservation, which is an unexpected occurrence for that species. We verified a diploid number of 2n = 48 chromosomes (4 sm + 24 st + 20 a) and the presence of heterochromatin in centromeric and pericentromeric regions, which are conserved characters in the Geophagini. The multiple nucleolar organizer regions observed in G. setequedas are considered to be apomorphic characters in the Geophagini, whereas the simple 5S rDNA cistrons located interstitially on the long arm of subtelocentric chromosomes represent a plesiomorphic character. Because G. setequedas is a threatened species that occurs in lotic waters, we recommend the maintenance of undammed environments within its known area of distribution.

A list of all valid names of species of Neotropical electric fishes (Gymnotiformes) is presented herein. The list is arranged by family and genus and includes all available synonyms. The list is comprehensive through 2016 and includes 240 valid species distributed among 34 genera and five families, including one monotypic genus known only from the fossil record. The presented classification reflects recently published interpretations about the validity of the included names which, in general, are widely accepted. When the validity of a particular name is disputed in recent literature, we followed one of the published interpretations and provide relevant information on the alternate interpretation(s) in the remarks section of that name. Synonymies of some names need to be considered tentative, inasmuch as the types underlying those names are either absent or appear to be based on more than one taxon. First reviser actions (e.g., lectotype and neotype designations, resolution of simultaneous synonyms, etc.) are reported and include erroneous subsequent attempts at problem resolutions. Abstract
Alopoglossus grandisquamatus is a species only known from its male holotype, collected almost 40 years ago. We report the rediscovery of the Largescale Lizard A. grandisquamatus based on two female individuals from two new localities, extending its known distribution 19 km eastwards and 100 km southwards. Conservation status of Endangered is proposed for A. grandisquamatus. Novel morphological variation is described, including sexual dimorphism in femoral pores. Synonymy of A. grandisquamatus with Alopoglossus eurylepis is discussed, with the dismissal of non-useful diagnostic characters. New characters such as number of femoral pores in males, gular scales arrangement and the number of transversal rows of ventral scales are proposed to diagnose A. grandisquamatus from A. eurylepis. Other characters used by previous authors to differentiate both species are also validated.

Abstract
Paragomphus Cowley, 1934 is a large palaeotropical dragonfly genus with four species previously described from Madagascar. The species identity of three of them requires confirmation, and only Paragomphus fritillarius (Selys, 1892) did not raise any taxonomical doubts. In this paper, a new species, Paragomphus sofiae sp. nov. from the Sofia River basin in lowlands of northern Madagascar, is described and compared to superficially very similar P. fritillarius. Identification of both species was possible only by comparing their hamules with the type specimens of P. fritillarius in the Selys' collection, because the literature contained neither illustrations nor detailed descriptions of its secondary genitalia. Regardless of the great similarity in the colour pattern, these species have turned out to be well-defined and differ by their notably distinct hamules and caudal appendages. They also seem to be spatially and ecologically separated: although both inhabit clearwater and sandy watercourses, P. sofiae has been recorded in open large, braided rivers so far and P. fritillarius in smaller rivers and streams. Considering the new knowledge of confusing interspecies similarity and species-specific hamules and cerci, all previous records of P. fritillarius require confirmation; the discovery of further species from the fritillarius -group is potentially possible.
